Rubber tracked machinery has an additional Code of Practice and Gazette notice to comply with. This applies even if it’s just the front axle that has tracks.
Like the rest of Ag Machinery on-road, this is being reviewed so will have some new parameters soon. Hopefully these will be more modern rules as the current Regulations only cover machines up to 24 tonne which is at least 4 tonne below what some new track machines weigh.
Code of Practice:
Local Council Permits:
Permits are not required for track tractors 24t and under. You are operating under the above gazette notice and Code of Practice.
If your track tractor is above 24t you may need a permit from your local council.
